The show is a timeline of the color blue. When it was discovered, the reverie that lead to government systems regulating it and viewing it as valuable as gold, and now with Moon River showing off blue as a symbol for longing.
Our score dashboard has been updated with the latest results from Whitewater and Memphis. The new leader based on last 5 average scores (at the moment, at least) is probably a corps you'd least expect. Check it out here! https://tinyurl.com/dci2022ranks
You absolutely can not sleep on SCV's brass but the same can easily be said about the percussion. Their work is far more subtle but tons of technical stuff in there.
Wow! Crown pops a new high score in Memphis with an 86.1, but Boston is right on their tails with a 85.7, only 4 tenths behind! Things may get interesting this week!

Blue Knights encore has concluded. Such fun! Live scores will be provided shortly.
This has been another excellent Saturday for Drum Corps!
Hmm, I'm sure the event in Alabama is over. I wonder if they didnt score it? Nothing I can find so far.
We are being told it was not a scored event. No official reason was given.
ah OK THanks
Now we're getting ready for one of the best encores in the activity. BK always puts on a good show. After a HoF presentation of course.
I am definitely vibing with this trombone duet.
I love that the Blue Knights always have these rubato type ballads.
After an almost ethereally start, they smack us in the face with big sound and tons of runs. Those need cleaned up but the good tone is already there.
Our final corps of the evening... The Blue Knights
Okay, the light intro for BK was pretty awesome!
Incredible moment at DATR!
Home show for the Blue Knights so they turned out the lights as they entered the field!
Performance level is almost there. But yeah.
Um.
I think they might win.
That show does feel like it has it all, doesn't it.
Favorite drill set is the exclamation point at the end of Tank.
Hell yeah 'Tank'! But keep it together there brass. Very loose there. Don't get over excited with it. I know it's a fun piece though.
TANK! And they added the 3, 2, 1, Let's Jam narration
Beat me to it, I was just about to mention that
Spanish flare (tribute to Piccaso)
An absolute cyclone at midfield, such a cool drill move.
I'm so happy BD no longer has the crutch of playing on System Blue horns, they can finally show off their potential.
Ballad Of The Year.
The show is a timeline of the color blue. When it was discovered, the reverie that lead to government systems regulating it and viewing it as valuable as gold, and now with Moon River showing off blue as a symbol for longing.
Such an excellent arrangement of Moon River. Really gives a great chance to showcase some gorgeous sounds from that flugel.
What a solo from her on a piccolo trumpet. Absolutely nailing it with perfect synchronization with the rest of the Corps.
Colorguard showing much improvement. Maybe their one "weakness".
Is your favorite color blue? Then you'll probably like this show. It's all about blue baby!
I'm blue, daba dee daba die
It's very funny to me that the hornline takes their jackets off before they even touch their horns during the show. Awesome effect though.
This opening choreography is one of the most visually striking moments of the year.

Blue Smoooooke!
The defending DCI World Champion Blue Devils are taking the field.
Didn't you write something about them?
You mean the very first official article for GEM???
https://generaleffectmedia.substack.com/p/the-blue-devils-and-their-blue-titles
Good use of vertical space in the props. And who knew that this piece could work as a ballad?! SCV out here to show how it's done!
I think this show is growing on me, I wasn't enjoying it at the beginning of the season but now I think it's starting to connect with me.
One could say, you're 'Finding Nirvana'....
Booooooooooooooo
You absolutely can not sleep on SCV's brass but the same can easily be said about the percussion. Their work is far more subtle but tons of technical stuff in there.
I really want more than the little bit of Nirvana that Vanguard is giving with this show. Just go to town on Come As You Are, please!
Vanguard's brass book cleans up every time they perform it.
I really like the contrast of the purple color guard outfits to the white for everyone else in Santa Clara. Really pops!
Also, of note. If current score trends hold, the final 3 corps to go on next weekend in San Antonio will be BD, BAC, and Crown. Wow.
Wow! Crown pops a new high score in Memphis with an 86.1, but Boston is right on their tails with a 85.7, only 4 tenths behind! Things may get interesting this week!
Mandarins closer is going to set off fire alarms at Lucas Oil.
Big big finish from the Mandarins. This is easily the best the Corps has ever been in my opinion.
Crown is only .4 up on Boston now

Also we have results from Memphis 👀
Perfect use of yellow flags on side one symbolizing the the ray of light the unit is experiencing.
Awesome reaction from the crowd.
Designers, take notes. This is how you integrate a singer into a marching show.
Mandarins use the field so well. Plenty of coverage and always keeps your focus.
