Not going to lie, I'm really excited to see the Blue Devils live in Indy. They're always a corps that's a must-see to see live and I've heard this year is no different. Their performance level is just off the charts.
They are still getting too excited in Tank causing timing issues in the brass. But good lord of they can get that clean that's going to be so freaking awesome.
It's extremely impressive that they only missed one full performance with their COVID outbreak, and this show definitely feels a lot stronger than they did a week ago.
The brass book in this, like Blue Stars, is so subtly complex that it can be easy to write it off. But you can't. You really really can't. And they perform the heck out of it!
I'll admit, "Finding Nirvana" is far from my favorite SCV show of all time, but it's definitely grown on me recently. That said, the members are performing the heck out of it.
Vanguard definitely feels similar to crown in that the show design doesn't quite show off the members strengths in an effective way to the extent that others do
We're all done here! Thanks for reading along! Goodnight!!!

TSK TSk, ya'll didnt post the Eastern Illinois scores ;) See ya at the next live blog
It will be interesting to see how 2-4 shakes out tonight!
WHHAA?? Sound ordinance blocking scores? WTAF? hahahaha I mean that stadium is NOT in a residential district FFS>
gotta hand it to BAC, at least they have 3 colors of pajamas #SnarkAlert
Man this guard is just something else. So impressed.
anyone care to hazard a guess about what BAC will do to repurpose those cones after this year? LOL
The drum break WORKS!
gotta love that evil demonic drum line with black hoods up LOL
Holy Rifle line Batman!!!!!! Boston.....
Boston Crusaders on the field and the fight for the Silver is getting more interesting.
It feels weird that Blue Devils went on third from last but here we are as Boston Crusaders now take the field!
Crazy to think we're already at our final corps of the night! And congrats to DCI for getting through the entire event without any more weather!
spoke too soon, no scores announced in stadium due to impending score and something about sound
*impending storm
They managed to pull it off somehow.
No denying that that ending really gets the crowd fired up!
It really is pretty awesome with a great musical buildup.. I just dont need them screaming righthererightnow at me.. AGAIN.
This is definitely the show where I agree with you the most regarding bad narration.
There's so much what in this show, but not enough why, and that will hold what might be the best performing corps in DCI back in Indy.
GOOD LORT.. The Battalion pulled off a 9.65 point jump from the previous best 60.250! That's just mind blowing!
there's no denying the impact of the giant drape for Crown. BUt much like with the Cat Toy, I'm not sure what it is supposed to mean?
This is MY ballad of the year.
What is Crown's repertoire?
With All The Love In My Heart - Jacob Collier * Chandelier - Sia * Chasing The Moment * Benedictus - Karl Jenkins * Own The Moment * Toccata Andromeda - Paul Halley
(the two w/o composers are original compositions)
Crown needed to add a button to the app for home users they'd press to start the sequence at the end of the countdown.
YEAH!
I just wish crown's app actually worked at home.
Will it be Georgia on my Mind, Sweet Georgia Brown, or...?
wow, that was a huge disappointment >.<
Carolina Crown is taking the field. They are having an interesting season to say the least. A solid performance could get them back up to third.
They have mastered the "mosaic" type of drill/music thing. I can't describe it. It's amazing.
If you've won 30 or so/50 I'd say you've figured it out.
I think that's why they took out the voiceover there. Exposes the heck out of them if they're slightly off.
Huge moment in this ballad and love all of the blue flags across the field.
Moon River is the ballad of the year.
This next corps would like a word.
These soloists are ON tonight.
Breaking news: DCI Central Illinois scores!
1 Guardians 72.550
2 The Battalion 69.850
3 River City Rhythm 67.300
4 Louisiana Stars 66.250
5 Colt Cadets 62.450
OK this announcer apparently really enjoys saying BLOOOO; too bad he cant say Corps or Santa Clara properly >.>
To be fair, I also love saying blooooooo so I can't blame him.
The Blue Devils have taken the field. That's all you need to know.
Man, with those changes by the Bluecoats and them beating Crown last night, the battle for 2-4 may go down to the wire in two weeks.
...
By the end of the year, 3,2,1 let's jam will be a top 3 moment of the season along with Mandies singer and Boston's Lacrimosa.
That new ending is so much more satisfying than what they had before!
The Bluecoats have got to have some of my favorite hornline characteristics. Just a great balance and blend
Bluecoats got jealous of everyone else wearing white so decided they should too.
It's extremely impressive that they only missed one full performance with their COVID outbreak, and this show definitely feels a lot stronger than they did a week ago.
man I would give ANYTHING to hear this show w/o that boring-ass voiceover.
The brass book in this, like Blue Stars, is so subtly complex that it can be easy to write it off. But you can't. You really really can't. And they perform the heck out of it!
Bluecoats are riffing. Pulled ahead of Carolina Crown last night. Is it going to last?
OK now THAT is a hilarious view, watching Bloo in a giant charlie Foxtrot behind that prop. That said, time to mute the blather and just watch.
I really like that new ending. Really feels like it fulfills the show.
HOLY SHIT. THat is the first time Ive seen that finale moment!
Congratulations on finally Finding Nirvana, Vanguard!
Now that's a great ending for a show called "Finding Nirvana"
New ending!!! Awesome!!!
YOu gotta love elaborate dance number from SCV just so they can pull each other's shirts off. #NoIdontGotta
I'll admit, "Finding Nirvana" is far from my favorite SCV show of all time, but it's definitely grown on me recently. That said, the members are performing the heck out of it.
yeah, whatever you do, dont hold this up to "Babylon" o.0 I do love the music this year though.
Vanguard definitely feels similar to crown in that the show design doesn't quite show off the members strengths in an effective way to the extent that others do
