There are three regionals in new locations this year, the first being the Whitewater, WI Regional on September 16th, where BOA were originally planning on holding a non-competitive pre-season preview this past fall on September 11th. The next is the Chattanooga, TN Regional, which appears to be a relocation of the Jacksonville, AL Regional, so we can expect to see a very similar collection of competitors at this contest. The last and most notable addition is a return of a SoCal Regional, something that has been in BOA’s lineup on and off in recent years due to dwindling participation from the local programs. It will be interesting to see if this regional can get a strong enrollment like they used to before the late 2010s. Other notable locations include all nine Texas events returning, as well as the return of the New Mexico and New Jersey Regionals introduced last year. The most notable absence from the lineup is no regional in either of the Carolinas, likely due to it’s close proximity to Johnson City, TN.
All in all, with a full schedule of events stretching from coast to coast there should be much to look forward to in the 2023 fall marching season. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials as locations and venues get confirmed for more regionals, as well as other relevant updates to not only the BOA season, but also all things related to the marching arts!
