Vandegrift returns to BOA competition one week after losing to Vista Ridge, while Broken Arrow and Blue Springs face off in a heavyweight matchup at the St. Louis Super Regional. Southlake Carroll reaches a new milestone in Memphis, and Vista Murrieta makes its case out west.

But in Texas, the conversation has changed. UIL Area competition is underway, where rankings become cutoffs, a single ordinal can change a season, and getting to State sometimes means making exactly the right move at exactly the right time.

We'll dig into who survived, who moved, and what the results tell us as the road to San Antonio gets considerably narrower.

Plus, we'll check the latest Team Texas: Hold 'Em, take the temperature with Hattie's Heat Index, unveil the newest National Rankings, talk a little sports in Stick to Band, and put the GErMs through another Chair Test.

BOA is building toward Grand Nationals. UIL is building toward State. And from here on out, every weekend sends somebody home.

This week, the GErMs dig into Carmel vs. Avon at the BOA Indianapolis Super Regional and what their first head-to-head meeting tells us as Grand Nationals approaches. Back in Texas, Vista Ridge and Vandegrift give us another major result to unpack, while UIL season is officially here and the Texas picture is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

We'll also make our way around the rest of the national marching band landscape, check the latest Team Texas: Hold 'Em, take the temperature with Hattie's Heat Index, unveil the newest National Rankings, and put the GErMs through another Chair Test.

Plus, we've got new shirts in the GEM set, and we're testing the waters with something new: GEMberships. Would you become a member of the General Effect Media community? More importantly, what would make a GEMbership actually worth it to you?

Grand Nationals is getting closer. Texas is heading into UIL. And we've officially reached the part of the season where every tenth matters.

Meanwhile, Indiana has stopped giving us scores just as things were getting interesting.

Plus, we'll check the hand in Team Texas: Hold 'Em, unveil the latest National Rankings, and find out which GErM survives this week's Chair Test.
